Yo Identidad/ Me Identity  

This project is related to the loss of self- Identity after a situation of abuse. It has two parts, a Performance and a seris of self- portrits in the making which use the broken mirror from the performance. 

The performance portrayes the loss of identity by the different masks that the artist wears. Also the loss of identity can be seen by the changes in clothing, indicating a loss of self image, from a bright colorful one, to a dark one. Finally the liberation is portrayed by getting rid of the darkness, the mask, and revealing the artists real Identity, the found one after the pain and loss. The mirror is a symbol of the expectations regarding relationships in society, especially heteronormative ones, which the artist breaks, as she breaks free from the chains of toxic, as well as hiperromanticied fake love, and Is able to see across from the expectations.
